Life is filled with ups and downs, no matter how prepared or positive you are. This was definitely one of the 'downs'. We had been looking forward to our Costa Rican Adventure since we booked the trip back in June. We were supposed to be leaving on Sunday, Nov 21st. We were patiently waiting for the itinerary to come (2 weeks before departure like the contract stated) when we received an email saying that the company: Latin America 4 Less had gone out of business due to financial difficulties and our booking could not be honored. We were shocked and heartbroken. We basically were SCAMMED. The company obviously knew they were going out of business when the advertised the sales for trips back in June and we booked (like many other people i'm sure) and they probably had our money sitting in a high-interest account. We currently have filed a dispute with the credit card company and are confident we will get all of our money back - eventually, but we are still so incredibly BUMMED.On a positive note, we are looking forward to sharing Thanksgiving with the family and relaxing over the 4 day holiday next week. I'm sure we will make it to Costa Rica someday - but not for now, I have a bad feeling about the whole thing...
oh well.
