Our Trip to the Pacific Northwest

We just got back from visiting Boyd's childhood friend Nate in Humboldt County & the Redwoods. Boyd and I were stunned at the beauty of this small area in the Northwest part of the United States. It is definitely one of my new favorite places on Earth.

We started our trip by flying into Medford Oregon, where we stayed one night and rented a car. The next morning we drove 4 hours down the coast to where Nate lived in Humboldt County...(Mckinnleyville, CA) The drive was so amazingly scenic....everywhere i looked was one beautiful spot after another - needless to say it was a VERY enjoyable 4 hour drive. Nate was so hospitable and enjoyed taking us all over the area to different spots that he knew about. Boyd and I had a great time capturing the memories and scenery with our cameras. The weather was cold/misty/rainy/foggy... but i didn't mind too much - because it added to the mysterious magical feel of this breathtaking area.

We hope to go back very soon - because there is so many other spots that we didn't get a chance to see, and Nate will take us the next time we go! And when Ryeland is a little older we plan to take him someday too.
